With just under 50,000 miles, the Cooper AT3 XLT tires still had some tread left but had ZERO traction on wet asphalt. I have also had hell balancing them and they developed abnormal wear for the last 20ish thousand miles. So I decided to replace them before the big freeze event here in Central Texas. Decided to try the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T in 295/70-18 (same size as the Coopers I had). So far, I have been very pleased with how quiet they are (for an agressive AT) and how well they performed on ice/snow. We shall see how they wear in the long term.

The MT Baja Boss ATs are the best tire I've ever ran. They are on my Jeep and were on my Ram until I went up to 37s and decided to try the Patagonia XTs for $140 less each tire.

I’ve had 3 sets of Baja Boss AT over the past 3 years or so.
2 on my 4x4 sprinter van and 1 on a Grenadier that I owned for a year. 255/85R17 pizza cutters on both vehicles.
The first van set lasted 40,000 miles with infrequent rotations, a heavy van, and heavy offroad use. Could have probably eeeked out more miles on them TBH
They were great in all conditions that I encountered and never had a puncture or sidewall damaged Offroad.
I have Toyos on my Power Wagon because I wanted to try something different, but I will probably run the Baja Boss on this truck when the time comes to replace them.

How is the good noise with these tires? I have been thinking the Baja boss may be my next tire. I done know many people that have run these tires.

I wish that Baja Boss AT wasn’t so heavy. In 275/70R18 size it’s 66 pounds vs most other brands being like mid 50 pounds and at least one that is just 50 pounds (Firestone’s Destination XT).

I have MT ATZ P3's on my 1500 and Baja Legend EXP's on my 3500. I'm a Mickey fanboi. The tires have been very good to me and being made in America, at an American owned factory, by American employees gives me a little warm feeling.

* Edit to add - Nothing against you Canadian boys, just me being patriotic to my flag.

The weight of the Baja Boss AT was my only reservation about choosing them over any of the others as they were the heaviest tire I found in 295/70-18. So far, I have not noticed any significant drop in MPG compared to the Cooper AT3s (which were the lightest AT tire I considered in that size).

The road noise of the Baja Boss AT is less than my previous Cooper AT3s (although they had approx 50k miles on them).

FWIW, I rode in a truck running the Cooper Strongholds and they were noticably louder than the MT Baja Boss ATs.
