Just browsing Metal Cloaks website and they have 30% off all the Ram HD suspension systems and components during the month of May . I do not see them talked about much but looks like they have some pretty good stuff.
Imo the Thuren trackbar setup has no competition for "standard" rear lift heights. By making the trackbar that much longer it reduces the amount of side to side axle shift throughout the full up/down travel of the axle. Additionally the re-location ensures that the Axle is traveling through the most vertical part of the travel available to it maximizing the benefit of the longer bar.I also found it interesting that they have the rear track bar with the bracket to correct the angle similar to the Thuren rear track bar. I already have a Thuren sitting on the shelf ready to install or I might have ordered the Metal Cloak had I known about it before.
How does the PW anti-hop setup differ from the regular 2500 anti- hop setup? Mine has a single Bilsten 4600 shock.A few of us do have some of their stuff. I actually saw that and I'm planning to pick up the rear control arms before the end of the month. I love how their front 2 piece control arms (both solid arms no lock-n-load) soaked up a bit of the NVH and let the front flex out when I need it to. I was originally planning to do the thuren rear control arms, but IMO its too much scratch for how I use the truck and 2 sets of control arms with geometry correction brackets. Instead I'm just going to add the matching rear metalcloak control arms with the PW antihop bracket and the 5100 version of the anti-hop shock.
For me their 4.5" was just too much and they didn't have the 3.5" kits out when I did mine or I might've been tempted to go all metalcloak. That said adding their radius/control arms to a Thuren/Carli 2.5-3.25" setup is well worth the money IMO. I'd say just about the only place I wouldn't want to run them is a truck that is setup to really get hammered on off road (trussed axle, King 3.0s/Dominator, etc) where one would want something solid and beefy like the Carli radius arms to handle the abuse of high speed stuff vs lower speed flexing out.
The bracket is slightly taller - Since I'm running R2 springs I need 1" of bump drop and the taller PW bracket is a better fit. Since I have a diesel I have no power hop shock - That guy typically only shows up on Hemis and PWs.How does the PW anti-hop setup differ from the regular 2500 anti- hop setup? If their radius arms are anything to go off of I have zero concerns - The joints on their Ram parts are downright massive compared to their jeep parts. I originally had some reservations, but after I actually had the parts in my hands for the front those concerns were gone.I ran MC arms on my LJ with Savvy/Currie springs shocks and it rode like a dream. Their bushings do absorb a good amount of NVH but I’m not sure how they’d hold up on our heavy trucks. Maybe I’m wrong. If I were upgrading arms I’d want to correct the rear geometry.
Did you get them installed? I just got a carli dominator put on my 2500 but stayed with the stock radius arms. Really like the look and price of metalcloak, but not sure if it'll fit my truck with the dominator kings and coils. If their radius arms are anything to go off of I have zero concerns - The joints on their Ram parts are downright massive compared to their jeep parts. IMO the factory geometry, while subpar, is a trade off - Thuren is 100% optimizing for forward drive loads while empty. Not a bad thing to target given their audience, however, the value to me just isn't worth the $2600. I've run Core 4x4 arms on these trucks as well and ditching the torsion bushings is 100% worth it alone - For me the metalcloak NVH absorption + ditching the stock bushings + the sale price point = I just ordered them now that I'm back from business travel lol.
