Hi! First time poster, but have been researching trucks for a while and this site has been fantastic. After a ton of research, test drives, and talking with people I decided to purchase a 2019 ram 2500 short bed with the 6.4 hemi to replace a F-150 I've been using to tow a travel trailer. I found one with 114k miles, it was a good price, and frankly drove nicer than a lot of the other ones I drove that had a lot less miles. Idle hours were the lowest I've seen as well in all of the ones I test drove. Anyway, ended up buying that about a week and a half ago. I drove it around for some time last night just enjoying it, but when I pulled into my driveway it had a different kind of ticking sound after it was all warmed up, something I didn't notice when test driving it at the dealership. I'm familiar with the squeaking when it first starts, aware of manifold ticking that should seal up after warming up, but a tick that develops after being fully warmed up is very concerning. I believe the oil filter in the truck had less than 100 miles on it (the dealership I bought the truck from did an oil change before I bought it). I personally have only put 60 miles on it. After loosing sleep over it I pulled the oil filter off and cut it open with a oil filter tool, careful not to contaminate anything and I found a lot of debris and chunks of silver metal in the filter media and the canister. I'll attach some pictures. I've listened to several videos and I'm worried that I have some lifters going bad. How screwed am I? From my understanding, any metal or debris in the oil filter is bad - and this oil has less than 100 miles on it..
