I've seen these around for years and always impressed by the videos I've seen...

never seen them in person, anyone have real world experience?

not that I'm looking to buy within the next 5 years, but world be interested if this would be something I could play with when I move to NC/tn...

are they practical? what's maintenance like?

I'd say mileage, but I guess how many hours of usage can be expected in common off road use..

I can't imagine them being practical for much distance. You see videos of guy racing around in them, but you're not going to be able to run them that fast in most situations where you'd want them over tires, I would think. And then, a Sherpa would probably be a better choice?
