Has any one here swapped out their 20 or 21 front hubs for the manual locking hubs? Any thoughts either way?

The axles are a constantly driven setup with a center axle disconnect - IMO a decent setup already which negates all of the supposed drivetrain loss that would be encountered from a non-CAD setup. Why change it?

Although I deleted the CAD on my 01 Cummins and it didn’t drive any different or lose any MPG… Id do it on this truck too if I were able

And they make a Warn locking as a 1 piece slide on. If interested watch the entire 5 minute or so video he has. Cost is around $2200.

Holy smokes for the fuel/maintenance savings I might encounter using these, in order to pay them off the truck would be 50 years old! Likely have gone through a few sets of front bearings anyway just due to wear and tear! I don't see any benefit. Makes 4wd much more labor intensive to use as well unless you just leave the hubs turned in which defeats the purpose anyway. Adding more failure points using one-off parts that will likely be unsupported in 10 years. My worthless .02 cents

If you're doing it for the fuel savings alone I'd say it's a waste. As was pointed out it's just not worth the 0.5 mpg saving, at best, you're gonna get. If MPG is really a concern then dropping from the 40s would net you an overall much higher MPG increase, and reduce wear on components. I assume you don't wanna do that for multiple reasons, I won't either, but hopefully you get my point.

This guy was freaking painful to watch. It seems that the only real advantage here is the manual hubs. At least parts like the Dynatrac free spin kits help extend the bearings out further, which can arguably help with wear for more negative offset wheels and larger tires, especially if you're off roading all the time. Outside of that, it's a lot of extra maintenance for a tiny bit of mpg savings. How much does that grease cost? $15 bucks or so? You're just not saving near enough to justify this cost in my mind.
