So I am looking at a 2019 5500 Laramie with 86,000 miles. Let me start out by saying this is 10x the truck I need for my application but the one feature I absolutely want is the wide track front end. I am going to be using the truck for personal use only. Generally towing a 30’ gooseneck hauling snowmobiles. My plan is to park my trailer at the cabin and load the sleds up on a flatbed and head up in to the mountains to ride.

The mods I intend on doing are:
  • Kelderman 4 Link suspension full suspension
  • 9’ Flatbed - probably non skirted. But I need to be able to adapt a ramp to each side of the bed
  • Wheels and tires. I am wanting to do 20” rims with 285/60 Toyo OC AT3’s. But I’m also considering the Alcoa 22.5’s milled to 22” and run 285/55’s on those. I've always liked the Alcoa look. Load is not a factor as my pin weight is probably 2500# or so. What are the largest tires I can run at the stock height?
Any thoughts or recomendations?

Aside of that I'm going to look at the truck this weekend. Anything I should look for? Any known issues with this year other than the fuel pump issue?

This will be my first Ram I'm looking forward to giving it a try. Thanks!

Nice looking rig. I don't have a ton to add (not sure about the 2019's issues other than the CP3) but if you want any info on the Kelderman, it was one of the first things I installed on my truck - build thread is linked in my signature.

How do you like the Kelderman? Seems like a pretty sweet setup.
So far I am really happy with it. Very beefy components, and the control system looks to be well done also. I only have about 2,000 miles on my truck since it's still under construction and it hasn't carried my camper yet (soon...) but I am confident it will be great.
