Welcome, specs of your HD?Been driving half ton rams forever. Just ordered a 2500 for the first time. We tow a lot and wanted the higher cargo capacity. Looking forward to learning more about them here on the forum.
I need to get my truck (2022 Laramie 1500) on the scale too. After upgrading the electrical on my TT, I think it might be pushing it on payload (1355 lbs max). The TY was 540 lbs OEM before the upgrade with GVWR 5040 empty before adding a full take (40 gal) of fresh water. I’m looking to to get the exact truck you ordered.Big horn 2500 in ceramic gray with the 6.4 hemi and the level 2 plus package. Our trailer is around 6000 lb empty and we take long trips with a lot of water. It was towing ok with our 1500 Laramie but I felt guilty pulling it thru the mountains. Then I put us on the CAT scales one day and we were 20 lbs above our GVWR. I turned to the wife and said, "Dear, looks like you'll need to lose 20 lbs." (That didn't go over very well.) Looking forward to the new truck and anxious to see how it tows.

Your situation is very similar to mine. The Laramie trim is nice but my payload number on the door is only 1276 lbs. When you take the tongue weight off of that, there's not much left. So the 2500 made sense. I was on the fence regarding diesel vs gas. I ended up going with the 6.4 gasser because we needed the cargo capacity moreso than the tow rating. Any thoughts on diesel vs gas? Seems like they both have some pros and cons.I need to get my truck (2022 Laramie 1500) on the scale too. Likewise for me. I just don't want to deal with the extra maintenance costs, yet. Now if I had won the recent Powerball, I might change my mind. For me I knew that I was not going to be towing a ton, but when I do I wanted the confidence a 2500 would bring. And the gas version gave me this at a lower operating cost as far as services (oil changes and fuel filters, DEF, and associated items) and a lower MSRP than a diesel does. If I could afford it and didn't mind the higher overall cost then I most definitely would have bought the diesel.
