Hey gents. I’ve been lurking on here quite a few years. I ordered a 2022 HD and loved it. Three weeks ago I was in a wreck and insurance totaled it. I contemplated ordering again, but without a truck at all I didn’t want to roll dice on a used one while I waited. So I flew to MO to grab one that was close to what I wanted.

Only potential issue is the build sticker says 11/2023. It’s a 2024 LBCC 3500 HO limited. I bought the truck last week with 60 miles on it and drove it home. It’s perfect, and I don’t have the frequent regen issues my 22 did. My question is, it was on the lot for around a full year before I scooped it up. Is there anything I should be concerned with sitting that long? My batteries seem fine, but I was thinking of load testing them to be sure. Should I change any fluids earlier than I would normally? I plan to do the first oil change at 5k and send off samples like I was doing before. As of right now the truck has 1200 miles on it.

Thanks ahead of time for the collective help and knowledge!

Aside from an early oil change, which I would do now, I wouldn’t worry about anything.

Your 2022 had frequent regen issues by 1200 miles? Most of the frequent regen issues don’t manifest the early.

I may just change it this weekend, that’s my feeling too. I have three changes worth in the shed anyway so I’m good.

My 2022 gave up the ghost at 41k. The thing never made it to a 24 hour clock regen, even towing our RV cross country. Most of the time I was seeing between 150 and 200 miles between regens and that’s with me towing work trailers pretty much all the time. Enter the 24 and the first regen happens at 23 hours on the dash. Takes just 10 miles worth of driving to complete, and I now have 350 miles mixed driving with nothing on the gauge. My CTS3 says it’s at 35% and my 22 would climb past that pretty quick.
I ordered my 22 and had the first regen in just 10 hours of mixed driving. Never got past more than 6 hours after that and that was towing our 12k RV around everywhere. Time will tell of course…

My self I would not of drove it off the lot until the oil had been changed being the oil was over 1 year old, it being changed would have been part of the buy process as in no cost to the buyer....

Yeah I didn’t even think about it then or I would have. No biggie, I’ll change it soon.
