So I installed a new Leer HF650M on my 2022 Limited Longhorn 6-4 bed. There is a post here about it. After installing the cover a few days later I noticed the rubber was splitting on the top edges where it folds. It had only been on the truck for two weeks and I had only opened it twice. Pictures to follow. I called my seller and sent pictures and they sent me another one. They request that you field destroy you first one and want pictures. I was told I could spray paint it or some people even use them for target practice. Not in my neighborhood……although I could put a few .50AE through it with ease. I installed the new cover today and after folding it up two times I saw the same cuts happening. I will add pictures and let you be the judge, it appears to me that the folding pads are installed on the wrong end of the folding panels. Feedback is welcome….
They are offering to send me a third but it’s going to get costly to dump these things if the third is like the previous ones……

First cover problems….

Maybe there should be four pads on each fold after the second fold ? Seems that way to me. My trash man won’t take these so I’m going to have to pay to dump them somewhere…..

Just looked. Mine has the pads in the same location. No cracking rubber yet, but definitely some wear to them. One of my shock holders did break off when I was trying to pull out the shock. It just hangs there now.

Mine looks worse and only been opened twice, you do have the same bite marks that will eventually get worse. They refuse to refund but are willing to send a 3rd one. I’m reaching out to Leer directly.

Yeah, after dropping $1,000 you get a little upset when something cuts it’s own self up in 1 minute. I get the year part…….and yes, I am anal, capitalize that I before have… :)

I see you are in Tennessee, I know the convivence centers around the Murfreesboro/Franklin area are free for one truck load a day. I've used this a few times. Doesn't help your fitment issue, but it shouldn't cost anything to get rid of.

So after contacting Leer and telling them about the rubber deterioration and tears, a few days later they tell me this:

“Getting in touch with Leer will do no good. You need to discuss this matter with the dealer whom sold you and took your money to get a refund. Leer cannot refund you as we did not take your money directly.”

Not one word addressing my problems……

Thats horrible. I would expect better from a company as large and well known as Leer. Sorry this is happening to you.
