Leaking front shock with 5k on ODO

Have a '24 3500 SRW CC LB Laramie with Cummins, truck has been used to tow a 14K lb travel trailer probably 3500 miles of it's 5k mile life so far. I noticed a spot on the gravel after the truck sat overnight at a campground. Needing to know what was leaking, I crawled under the truck and found a wet LF shock.
Brought the truck to the dealer and they verified the shock is leaking but have none in stock and they are backordered nationally. I know the optimal thing to do would be to replace the shocks with an aftermarket option but I'm not ready to let Ram off the hook so quickly. Is this typical for others who tow? Did I just get the unlucky leaker or is this going to continue until I break down and install better shocks?
I'm leaving tomorrow for another camping trip so hope she's ok.

Thanks in advance for the info.

Exact same thing happened to me 1-1/2 years ago. Had to bring it in so they could verify for themselves it was leaking. They looked, said yes it is leaking, backordered nationally. I also went to Discount Tire to see about getting aftermarket shocks. They had the fronts, but the rears were backordered with no known time frame. After a couple of weeks, I got lucky and the dealer got one in somehow. They did not know why they got it as their computer still said unavailable due to nation wide backorder. They whole supply chain broke a few years ago with COVID and I am thinking it may never get fixed.

2020 RR leaked under 10K.

Didn't have time to mess around with the dealer so just got Bilstein 5100's, installed myself, and called it a day. Better shock, better towing experience all around. They're a little "sporty" unloaded, but worth it.

Made the dealer dispose of the old shocks and made sure it was noted on my record as a customer complaint.

I'll add in that the shocks for this vehicle are pretty cheap. I also self installed bilsteins, this wasn't my 1st shock install and I found it very easy to install shocks on this truck. You wont need to jack it up, remove tires, or much of anything to replace them. Not that this shouldn't be covered by warranty but if you want to self fix and move on with things its pretty cheap. I watched an episode of the car wizard and he said he finds that nearly 50% of shocks he buys now-adays factory are bad out of the box. Ram is not using quality components here.

Forgot to mention that I went on the Mopar Parts website and plugged in my info and the parts listing comes up with 4 options that all say they fit my truck. The top option is backordered nationally, the other 3 are available.

No.
