Laramie Headlights on a Tradesman??

Yikes.. how long ago was this? maybe needs capacitors to operate smoothly.. idk.. I’ve seen this as a ‘Fix’ for flicker.. it seems hit or miss with them. OEM reflectors don’t excite me as much unless i find them at the right price.. the search continues.

This was about 7-8 months ago. Unfortunately it wasn’t so much of a flicker, it would just go dim for a while and get brighter after a while and that’s why they couldn’t pin point the issue.

Just installed the projector headlights on my 2022 with jimmys harness. Used settings for alpha from this thread and I don’t have any front turn signals or front hazards. Checked alpha settings again, all seem good. Get the error message turn signals out. Any help would be appreciated.

If I remember correctly, it took a while for all of the AlfaOBD changes to take effect. I think I disconnected my battery for about 10 minutes, reconnected it and waited another 20 minutes and things started to work as they should.

Did they work as they should or did you have to do anything else?

Yes worked as they should. Had to reset with alpha to factory and then just take my time. I think one setting didn’t take. Also, make sure everything is installed before you start the alpha changes.

Anyone know if this all still applies to the 2024? I am wanting to put Night Edition Laramie LEDs on a Night Edition Big Horn. I am unable to access the AlphaOBD site. Not sure it it's down or out of business.

I don't know what you are going to pay for the LED headlights from a Laramie, but it might be worth looking at the Morimoto headlights. I swapped these into my 2024 Tradesman and they are fantastic. Brighter than the factory LED lights in the Laramie or Power Wagon trims. If you can find some Laramie headlights at a better price its probably not worth paying $1,800 for the Morimoto lights, but I'm really pleased with them.
