I am having intermittent issues with my truck registering the key fob both when outside trying to lock/unlock the truck as well as inside when trying to start the truck (or god forbid I have the truck running and I exit so it honks at me like I can't hear the engine is still on). I have replaced the batteries and even validated with volt meter the replacement battery voltage is good. Anyone else had similar issues? I don't know how to take it in for dealer to look at as I could go multiple days with no issues then it goes off and fails to register 50% of the time for a day or so then back to working. I can already hear them say "can't reproduce". Thanks!

Assuming it’s also doing it with your spare fob? In the past a couple members had similar issues and I believe it turned out to be a problem with the RF Hub.

I haven't tried using my spare fob, I might do that just to validate! At least having the experience with multiple keys could help service repair/replace something. Appreciate the idea @flan!

I had similar issues with the tradesman fobs all the time. it hasn't happened one time since I got the 5 button fob for remote start and tailgate release.

I had that issue with another RAM of mine after replacing all the interior lights and cargo lights with aftermarket LED lights. Did you happen to replace any of your lights with LED’s? I’m reaching, but it’s worth throwing it out there. Good luck trouble shooting.

All stock 22 Laramie so it's all LED already, but I could definitely see a scenario where that could happen. It had been working for the last handful of times without issues and then started doing it again on todays trip so I went and dug the spare key out of the junk drawer and will start testing with it, will report back!

I've been having the issue, switched fobs and it's better but I still get it here and there. Will be talking to my deal once I'm back in town.

When you say you validated with a volt meter, what reading did you get?
I had the same issue with both my fobs yesterday. One 2032 3v battery registered 3.1v the other 3.0 v. I replaced the batteries and both fobs work. A good 2032 3v battery will read 3.3 or 3.4v. Anything less, at least in my case, wasn't good enough.

Correct, measured under load a 3v battery should be at or above 3v. Mine new out of package are 3.3v to 3.7v and didn't result in any different behavior from the fob/proximity sensors.

Dug the spare key out of the junk drawer and have been using it last few trips (on the OG 3v battery that came in it on purchase). So far its working no issues. Will see if it continues!

Good news I guess is the spare key has worked flawlessly this week. Here's hoping it makes it more than 18 months unlike the first key :|
