1.) Is it necessary to unplug the battery before attaching CanBus connectors?

2.) If I disconnect the battery do I just need to remove both of the negative cables? (Diesel truck)

3.) Is there any codes or anything I need before disconnecting the battery to prevent stuff from being locked out?

No just plug the connectors in, no need to disconnect the batteries, if you do pull the negatives nothing is needed after reconnecting them

Patience. Patience is needed until the radio brings all the features and apps back online.

IOW, don't reset the radio unless you need to.
