Just purchased and want to protect it (first time diesel owner)

The first items that I installed on our 2024 Ram 3500 to make it last and safer were an electrical cord to the block heater under the hood and winter rated (3PMSF) tires. Getting the engine block heater plugged into any electrical outlet to where it's parked was another issue due to the nearest 110V outlet was 225 feet away across a road.

Our 2016 Ram 2500 PW 6.4L came with 3PMSF rated tires and I have never used a block heater in below 0F and/or -20F temperature starts. Never installed one on it due to in most locations where it's parked there's no electrical outlet available.

For our 6.7L it's both recommended and required...

Block Heater Usage
For ambient temperatures below 0°F (-18°C), engine block heater usage is recommended.
For ambient temperatures below –20°F (-29°C), engine block heater usage is required.
