Ok, so I am hoping someone on here might be able to assist me. Full disclosure, I do stupid **** sometimes. I was doing my swap from jump seat to console (19 Ram 2500 Laramie) and while I had disconnected the battery previously during the install I forgot I plugged it back in to get my step to come down. I wasn't thinking and jumped back into it and one of the USB cables touched the CD player. I was shocked (pun intended) to see it spark because USB shouldn't carry power on the outside metal connector. Regardless, I blew 2 fuses, f65 and f66. After replacing these my inverter outlets have come back but the data connection seems to be dead and the computer is throwing a handful of faults. I don't have them all off hand but here is what I can recall:
I am a software geek so I understand the sensitivity of these systems. The U1045 is likely the main issue here. I am pretty sure when I shorted the USB I damaged the LIN 3 Bus. The question is have any of you run into this? How did you repair it if so? Or does anyone have any diagnostic suggestions. I understand what the LIN bus is and am guessing I blew out the network routing circuit when it shorted to ground. This would bey why none of those modules are communicating with the main CAN-bus but are still functional. Any suggestions are appreciated as I do not want to do the walk of shame into the stealership.
- U1045 - LIN 3 Bus Circuit...
- U1190 - Lost communication with humidity sensor
- B1E72 - Power inverter enable control short to ground
- U0213 - Lost communication with mirror control module
