Issue with text message. Google Pixel 10XL and U connect 4

So I just upgraded my phone and got a Google Pixel 10XL.
Had a Samsung before and never saw this issue
Since I upgraded phones, did the bluetooth connect and gave both full permissions, I have not been able to receive text messages on u connect from another phone.
I have gotten text from my Dr office which comes from a 5 or 6 digit number, not a regular phone number.
I checked all my settings and even had the Verizon guy check them.
Tried turning RCS messaging off and that didn't work.

Anyone else have this issue? Any fix for it?

Messing around in the truck, I see that when I go to messages, only old messages from my old phone show up, none of the new messages that Ive sent on the new phone.
Also I tried sending a message from the truck. It shows up as SMS on the wife's I Phone. Went I text from my phone, it shows up a RCS.
Can I change/update U Connect to receive RCS messages?

Well looks like I found the answer, not the one I wanted. U Connect 4 is not compatible with RCS messages and there is no update for it.
Of course all new phones now use RCS.
The workaround they say is to connect the phone to the U Connect via USB port and use Android Auto or Apple Play.
You wind up using your phones message system with RCS, but can control it from U Connect.

Guess I have to bite the bullet now and connect the phone and set up Android Auto. Hopefully the nav app on there will work better that U Connects nav app. Almost every time I tell it to find a address or place, it either wants to call emergency, call a contact who's name sounds nothing like what I told it to find, or it changes the XM station.

I hate technology. I'm glad you figured it out. When I decided to back into a HD, I specifically searched out one that still has the 8.4 inch screen. I don’t think they're quite as buggy. ‍

Well that didn't work either. It can't find my text messages. When the wife texted me, it just shows up on the phone.
