Is the standard (non-360) rear camera on the 8.4 non-nav locked out while driving?

Title says it all, currently have the el-cheapo 5" and would like to upgrade to 8.4. I saw the thread on the Naviks tool to defeat the rear camera lock-out on the 360* camera systems but it isn't clear to me whether the standard single camera gets locked out as well.

If the single-camera 8.4 is locked out while driving I'll probably stick with the teeny screen until there's a solution. As far as I can tell I can switch the 5" to rear camera whenever I want.

My 8.4 i can turn on the rear and trailer camera while driving it just times out after 45 seconds

Ditto above and I don't have a trailer camera just the back up camera. I wonder if there is a way to hack it to keep it on longer..

Check your setting (not while driving). I believe there is a setting that allows your to change the timeframe your camera will stay on. I am not sure if it is for moving vehicles or stationary but it is a good place to start

Ah, that makes sense. I haven't tried to turn on my reverse camera for more than 45 seconds, I had thought the bigger screen models have the reverse camera locked out completely while driving.

Thanks for the info.

All radios allow you to bring up the rear camera at any time while moving for 10 seconds at a time. There’s no way to change this as far as factory settings.

That is correct, the 10 seconds part, but there is a setting for the rear camera in the setting panel. I just can't remember what exactly it does.

You must be thinking of parkview backup camera delay. If it’s on, after you’re done backing up, and you shift out of reverse, the rear view screen with gridlines will stay on for 10 seconds, or up to 8 mph, whichever comes first.

I believe this setting enables the front camera to display when you go into D, then toggle back to the rear in R, etc. until it cancels at forward speed.

I know I changed something in mine to enable it. It was driving me nuts that it kept dropping before I changed that particular (I think) setting.
