Is my drag link supposed to have play?

Notice the bolt orientation amd the rubber boot- it is changing in the photos.

I can twist the whole bar with my hand.

Totally normal. The rod will tend to roll forward with use and usually will end up like your last picture.

That is not “play” its just the ball rolling in the socket
