Introduction. And the big tow

Ordered a new ram 2500 Ccab 6.4 first of February. Never had a ram before. Nissan. Fords. Etc.

I have a used boat in Ohio I’m picking up to tow home. Boat 2002 cdory Tom cat 24’. About 7k lbs total boat/trailer.

picking up truck end of April in Pittsburgh. Grabbing boat in Ohio. Going home to anchorage. AK. About 5k miles total

i have a few days in Ohio to prep the truck and trailer. Looking at new 285/75r18 tires. Duraflaps. Sumo springs. Leer 180r cap. Want to due 2” front level kit but will prob wait until home, not sure how truck would handle with front level kit and 2k ish payload plus trailer and 5k mile trip.

One thing I’d recommend is an airbag or torsion hitch (Like a gen-y torsion hitch)....that bouncy trailer tongue gets old after a few hundred miles.....

Keep eye on mileage......should be good to see if you average 7 mpg or better.

I looked into different hitches. Due to the design of the boat trailer tongue, surge brakes and its aluminum. there isn’t a hitch system that would work other then a standard ball mount
