i don't get these radios

I’ve tried the hotspot but recently got the Starlink mini which can be plugged in the bed of the truck for trips or placed between the sunroof glass and cover, or placed with one of the many mounts made for it. The plus is it works without the truck via 110 or even a battery pack. We will use it during camping season so it’s paused right now with no bill, and you can start/stop it on the months you want to use it. I refuse to give Ram any money for connected services. My wife used to have an explorer and the app and features were free….

Our Verizon phones are good as hotspots for working online - including Zoom calls, but not up to streaming on the televisions in the camper. Starlink advertised some sort of special deal on the mini that I passed on at the time. I didn't think about using it the way you describe. I'll have to see if that deal is still available.

TMobile is getting Starlink - already signed up for it. As I posted above, SXM will negotiate like crazy - you can get it dirt cheap.

Back when I was on the road all the time I had Sirius as well as Amazon audio books. I noticed I only listened to three or four stations on Sirius and much prefer Pandora.
The system is so well integrated now that I don't even have to take my phone out of my pocket to use Waze or Pandora. In fact, I sometimes get a bit startled when my truck suddenly shouts "watch out!" out of the blue.
I've got no real beef with the on board Nav - though back when all nav devices were stuck to the windshield with a suction cup we called Tom Tom "Dumb Dumb" because it was notorious for directing us on the worst routes imaginable.

i forgot tmoble was getting starlink, wonder how well it will work and if i can hot spot off it. i was thinking of picking up starlink for the toyhauler because most often we dont have signal in the woods/mountains

Ram is just in amateur hour! What about subscriptions for heated seats and crap like that? It really is ridiculous. On the Starlink front just WTF is Verizon and everyone else going to do? I am on the text waiting list as well, but the day voice goes live Verizons years of expensive plans, poor quality phones, bad service....see yaaaaa.
