Huge difference between my 2013 2500 and the 2020 3500 when towing camper

I was happy towing my 12K toyhauler with my 2013 Ram 2500 diesel, it pulled fine in the mountains, and controlled the down hills just fine. No white knuckles. pulling onto private propert with steep driveways in 4-wheel low was nothing. Passing 65 mph speed limited semi's on the interstate at 70-75 was not an issue. Maintining the set speed with cruise control and tow/haul and auto engine braking was never an issue.

The 'issue' is with my 2020 RAM 3500 diesel dually. I do not like to hold up traffic so as I pass the semi's I try to get by quickly. I have to learn to hold back as this HO/Aisen combo will have me at 85 quickly! Oh my! And smooth. If I am not looking at the speedometer I do not realize how fast I am going.

This only the second time pulling the camper, because of 2020, and first without the wife in the cab. When the time comes that we buy a heavier camper, I will not be concerned at all. The newer campers we are looking at are usually at or below 18k. so it will be closer to 70% payload instead of the 50% now.

Damn thing has me looking for loads to pull! Almost better than sex! lol

Running it till she breaks!

I will deal with that when/if it occurs. I have towing covered for RV and truck. And already know a lawyer should it come to that.

Perfectly said. I am surprised many don't have a good tow package. It only takes one tow to pay for several years of coverage.

RV Goose don't worry about your CP4, enjoy the truck. I tow all throughout the southwest and also in the Arizona heat and love towing with my 2020 / 3500.

How many miles on your truck?
