2019 RAM 2500 with 15k miles recently has howling sound in the front end from about 50 mph and up. It quietens when i swerve right but no change swerving left. Running 35x12.5 ridge grapplers on 20x10 wheels with only -14 offset and dont think its the tire. I did allow the front left to run for about 500 miles with about 55-60 psi, 10-15psi lower than the rest but have them all aired to 80 evenly now.
Alignment seems good and have rotated the tires every 6k miles.
No change in sound if in 4wd. Now change in decel accept the howl is deeper at lower speeds. Seems to quieten around 90+mph.
Any ideas?

You try tacking some weight off that tire and see if you have play anywhere? wheel bearing, universal joints, etc?

Not yet. Parked it for a couple days since we were traveling in our other car. Got back in it today and did the swerve test with it cold to see if it sounded any different than when warm and it did change the tone when tracking different angles. Not just on or off versus left or right. Gonna jack it up tomorrow. I think it's the bearing.

Question is if repacking the bearing will be enough or does it need replacing. Or does this one use oil bath from the diff?

19 with 15k miles? It's under warranty and shouldn't have failed, have the dealership change it out.

Yeah, just wanting to make sure it's not something that is "service" related. I guess anything it could be would fall into the bumper to bumper with the little miles it has on it.

I would hope so, unless you live up to your screen name and beat the piss out of it ;)

I think the front bearings are sealed "unit bearings".

Maybe at those speeds you shouldnt be in 4wd.....is it maybe stuck in 4wd?check on sand or gravel, does it drive differently?
