My truck is almost 3 years old - 2022 Ram 3500 Limited, with 113k KM on it - the front grill and passenger door molding chrome is bubbling! Truck is babied and washed by hand - no way the chrome should be degrading like this so quickly - and of course - out of the 100k warranty that is Canadians get ripped off with!

Anyone else have similar issues!IMG_0713.jpegIMG_0713.jpegIMG_0712.jpegIMG_0711.jpegIMG_0712.jpeg

Its a chrome plastic covering not actual Chrome and its nothing new they did that 30 years ago too. I have a 160k warranty here in canada that cost me nothing extra, I will be bringing mine in for the grill to be swapped soon…

Ps Canadian/ American warranty's are the same…

my '19 3500 limited has the same chrome package. luckily not a single issue. Is it still under warranty?

I don't think those faux-chrome lower door trim things were available in the USA as a factory option. At any rate, my 22 Limited Longhorn has the chrome frontend. It is in perfect shape. Never driven on snowy/sanded/salted roads and only 18K miles is probably the difference.

I have a 22 Laramie garage kept chrome is in perfect condition. Every time I see a limited vehicle I joke with my daughter and ask her I wonder what it’s limited to?

It's the salt. You won't see that issue in the south, or on trucks that are well taken care of.

Unless OP is washing it daily after driving it during the winter, or whenever salt it being used, things are going to corrode. And that chrome clad plastic is almost always the first to start bubbling.

I would say salt too - except, I'm on the west coast of Canada, we get about 2 days of snow a year, that lasts for a day or two usually. are winters are rain (except up in the mountains).

The chrome door strips are/were standard on Limited trim trucks.

Not in my area. I just looked at sites like Carfax and couldn't find any 22 HD Limited's with that stick on chrome piece. And when I ordered out my 22, I was torn between the Ltd Longhorn and the plain Limited, so did a lot of builds on Ram's website. Went back and forth for like 2 months before placing the order. I was never presented with that option and it was not on any of the trucks I built on their site. I've seen some with a thin chrome "rub rail" on the door, but not the rock shield type.

HA HA Ha... There is the confusion... it is only the thin chrome "rub rail"... the rest is just the reflection in the paint..... not a bad shine ehh :)

Ahh yeah, there we go. It's just a rub rail, there is no home "rock shield". I hated that thing when I had my Limited. Of course they didn't come out with the non-chrome packages for them until a month after I got mine.

Hah, nice polishing job!
