My dealer told me that one key fob comes with the truck. I am having trouble believing this.

How many came with yours ?

Thanks.

Most get 2.

The chip shortage however has seemingly changed that. From what I've read, you should be able to get one through warranty or whatever once they are all caught up again. Sucks, but I suppose it's better than your truck being held up for a key, too.

Thanks all...

still learning...

will be talking to the dealer soon..

Purchased 30 days ago as it came off the rail car with a build date in June. Got 2 keys and you should too.

I received two with my 2021 that was delivered on 6/15

There is an internal communication that says that builds after 4-10-2021 will only come with one fob, but only DT, JL, and JT vehicles are on the document. Also, people that have received those particular vehicles built after that date have reported receiving two fobs at delivery regardless.

Mine wasnt even officially ordered till near the end of April. Deliverd end of June.
I got 2 keys.
I was also told some deliveries get delayed because the keys are stolen in Mexico and they have no way to offload till they get new keys made and delivered.

And the only dumb question ever, is the one you DIDNT ask.

There is no dumb question. They are knowledge learning questions.
You cant learn if you dont ask.

I wish more people understood this.

I write documentation for a living. I love when people (customers) ask questions, because it points out potential gaps in my product.

My only caveat is do some research before firing out questions. Help vampires are the terrible, especially in online communities. That said, the worst people are the *******s when someone asks something, as silly as it may be. We all start from zero knowledge, at some point.

That's been my mantra for a long time.
I work with a bunch of college educated engineers. But most have no common sense or working knowledge of things. So I tell them all the time to just ask me. I cant help you learn if you dont ask.
And I've only ever taken 1 college class, basic electricity. But 21 years of Navy schools and training has taught me a lot.

I always tell people that theres no such thing as a stupid question, only stupid people when they start by saying they have a stupid question.

Two fobs is what you should have. Hopefully you can get the second without the hassle or having to purchase one. Good luck.

This reminds me that when I bought my truck last year the dealer only gave me one key and told me I could purchase another through MOPAR. I asked where my second key was and was told "it must have been misplaced or lost?". I ended up complaining to the sales manager about this and the dealership ordered me a new key.

If your dealer is telling you they only have one key then I'd make them produce a second key before you take delivery. Just my .02

Local dealer tole me just this week that the newest vehicles were only getting one key in some instances due to a shortage.

Two weeks ago I ordered a third fob, it came in two days. I don't believe there's a fob chip problem
