As a new owner, I’m thinking ahead to another long hot Las Vegas summer and truck storage as it relates to DEF in the tank.
While some of you folks hibernate and store your trailers during winter, I do the opposite in summer as I have a perfectly good house with AC and in-ground pool rather than be out and about in 110-115f temps.
My question is as follows: My 3500 will sit under cover along with the trailer at a storage yard but even so it’ll be very hot from June to the end of September, even in the shade.
Does my strategy make sense; keeping the def tank down to say less than a 1/4 tank over the summer months so that come fall a mostly fresh “full” tank is used? Would it go bad in the DEF tank over the course of 3-4 months in those ambient temperatures??? Any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
