Hemi 8sp shift cable

Has anyone experienced a disconnected shift cable? I just put 150 miles on the new truck and started exploring the undercarriage to get familiar and I find this white cable end that goes to the transmission. The other end was black and not connected to anything but fed through the firewall. If this is the shifter cable, I don’t know how I got it home before it came apart???

The ZF 8 speed is shifted electronically.

It doesn’t have a push pull type physical/mechanical cable.

That’s what I thought to. So what cable goes into the side of it?

Could it be the brake pedal interlock? Those used to be on the shifter, but maybe it’s on the transmission now?

That should be the neutral cable there is a hidden pull handle inside the truck to put trans in neutral if there is no power

I thought of that too earlier today. I pushed it together, but afterwards wondered if the white end needed to engage something in the black connector. Oh well, hopefully I’ll never need it.
