Cons
Laughable payload & towing capacity (unless you stay under 10% tongue weight and have an empty truck)
Stiff suspension
Excessive maintenance and fuel costs
No winch
Higher cost

Pros
Rear locker
Subjectively better looks
Probably will get mistaken for a Power Wagon

So people are actually paying extra to get the payload capacity of a Power Wagon or 1/2 ton truck, but none of the benefits? The entire truck is a compromise in every aspect compared to other models.

I mean you could get a regular 2500 diesel and put on the fender flares, a rear locker, Bilstein shocks, and end up with the same truck with more payload. And you've saved a lot of money.

I don't get it. Sometimes there are packages out there that seem to be designed to do nothing but fleece those that don't know any better. Kind of like the Tremor package from Ford.

Am I missing something?

I haven't understood the Rebel. Much less a HD diesel Rebel. The first iteration of the Rebel years ago was hideous. The newer ones look better but as you said what's the point when you can just add the good parts to ANY Ram as options and maintain your capability for work?

I think they should have avoided the HD Rebel completely and should have started offering the Cummins in the PW instead. If engineers can't figure out how to mount a winch on the diesel and simply relocate the cooler then they probably need to find a new line of work. "Well the diesel is too heavy for an off road truck." Let the buyer decide that!

Doesn't need to b PW to fit a winch, there are options with stock bumper and winch on a cummins IMG_2432.jpeg
