Hello Folks, I am attempting to install a Black view 900x dash camera into my 2019 Ram 2500 Laramie. I Googled and Youtube'd videos but still managed to mess things up a wee bit. I will try and post pics. Basically I removed the inside mirror housings and broke the plastic catches on each side of the the smaller piece. Does anyone know if it is possible to buy this piece and if so what might the part number be?

I thought I might place the Camera on the passenger side of the mirror, running the cable through this housing, to minimize the visibility of the cable. However, the camera seems to be designed such that the cable connects on the right side of the camera. I noticed this AFTER I pulled the plastic housing down. So I guess I will have to mount the camera on the Driver's side.

Also, I noticed a rather curious camera-like device already in place behind the minor. If this is indeed a camera, and if so can't it be used as a dash cam?

By the way, if anyone decides to take these pieces off, try gently prying each side of the larger piece apart as noted by the yellow arrows, where it connects to the top of the small piece. It then should pull out quite nicely, as noted by the red arrow.

I have been Googling to find the interior plastic trim parts and came acro0ss this website which may be of interest to others; https://www.jimsautoparts.com/mopar_performance_dodge_truck_magnum_interior.htm
Lots of parts, just not the specific items I need.

Update: Bought the top piece from the dealer, cost just shy of $9.00. Now trying to remove the side trim panel of the driver's side dashboard. Before I do that I think I will call the dealership and make sure that I can buy a replacement trim panel. The way things are going every time I try to remove something it breaks...sigh.

Not getting any help here, I will try a different forum.

Good info. Thanks for circling back. I can see myself breaking the same clips.

The “camera” you mention is just the auto highbeam sensor to my knowledge may also do the rain sensing wipers too im not to sure on that one

Thanks you H3LZ, one mystery cleared up. It really was starting to bug me.

Bye the bye, the inside mirror trim piece I bought from the dealer is not an exact duplicate, it appears to be about 1" or so shorter. It does snap into place and is not really noticeable. Still and all it is better to not bung up the OEM trim piece.

What's the part number for the replacement piece just in case I decide to tackle the same project?

The part number for the smaller of the tow interior mirror trim pieces is 6PA23TX7AA and cost $8.45 before taxes.
