Member here since June, forgot this part....
First Pickup Truck after 35 years of driving! Decided to get out of the IT industry and bought a Concession trailer... didn't think my Acura was up to the task of towing so, found one in stock 01/10/22(not easy), got it!
I know close to nothing about trucks, Friend has a '07 Dodge Ram 2500 SLT Mega cab, 5.7 Hemi. I helped him remove, rebuild, & replace engine, has a 04' Dakota as well and have been riding around in them for years, guess I got intimate with them so, now I have one. I'm still trying to get the feel for this Big A$$ Machine (to me anyway, see history below)
First car ever was a '73 Dodge Dart Custom, slant 6 w/AT & AC! Got it from my Granpa @ 16 in '87. My friends and I drove that thing into the ground burning through at least 2 cassette tapes of GnR appetite for destruction along with other stuff,
! Seriously drove this car to death in about 18 mos., young & dumb. Temporarily drove my folks Nissan Sentra until a lady in a Toyota MR2 decided to scoop the rear end up, like the spatula it was, at a red light.
Got my Mustang right before HS graduation in '89, '66 coupe w/289 & 4 spd MT(Fastback desired) Learned how to replace a clutch owning this one,
. Last V8 until now...
In '92, first Brand New car, Honda civic HB w/MT, quite a change, leaned against the steering wheel for a year trying to make it go faster, then settled in for 17 years! Sold running @ 287k
In '09, decide, no more MT's, then bought another "03 Civic HB Si w/MT, quick & fun (not fast & furious)
Finally went AT in '16, '00 Acura TL, backwards in years for an upgrade but, boy was it, V6 power over 4cyl!
In '20, found an Acura RL Tech couldn't pass on. Most tech for a 2010 automobile, I really enjoyed this car and miss the functions I gave up but, I like the Truck too.
This was a fun trip down memory lane, for me anyway. I have gained quite a bit of useful knowledge from here, started at 5thgenrams but, soon discovered this specific sister site. Hope to be able to contribute as well.
