I have a 22 Ram 2500 Big Horn with the 6.4 Hemi. I noticed towards the end of last winter the heated steering wheel stopped working. It would turn on for a moment and quickly turn back off. Its doing it now as we head into the winter season. From what I found its most likely the clock spring and is a known issue for the 21 and 22 Rams. Does anyone know if there was a recall for replacement fix or did anyone have luck getting it fixed by dealer/manufacturer? I'm out of warranty with 55k miles. I bought it used in February of 24' with 50k miles. Thanks

Don't know the answer to that, but ours did the same last year. I seem to recall reading somewhere that it was not a cheap fix, but could be wrong on this. We traded the truck and the dealer never mentioned it.

My 22 did the exact same thing, same symptoms. Took it to the dealer it needed a wiring harness replaced iirc. Fortunately mine was under warranty still last year when it happened.

Thanks for the reply. It seems to be hit or miss but as for now only seems to not work when remote start is used.

Thanks for the reply. Seems to do it when I use remote start. Very frustrating especially when we pay as much as we do for these vehicles.

My heated steering wheel just started doing this today... Right before a decent snow storm of course... Does anyone know definitively if this is caused by a bad harness or a bad heated wheel?

Could be or could be something else. My wife’s Grand Wagoneer just had the drivers heated seat stop working, it started out just hit or miss not working to then fully not working and the button actually wasn’t even available to push on the touch screen. Ended up being the heating element went bad I guess.
