Has Anyone swapped an ARE CAP from a previous Gen to a new Gen?

I have a friend of mine looking to purchase a new 2020 RAM 2500 Laramie long bed. His current big horn has an ARE custom cap. He and I are wondering how it will fit on the new truck? Anyone with any experience?

I was looking at the ARE caps for my 2019 3500 long bed and liked the Z2. It was not available for that bed. Maybe you could post more information about the model of top. They make a bunch of different ones. I think the Z does fit.

I believe the bed is the same as all the gen 4 trucks on the 4.5 gen HD trucks. The only thing that could be an issue would be the light on the back of the cab.

I believe we have members who have.

The fit to the bed is the same. The 3rd brake light fit fine on the one I seen. I think someone said the cargo camera can not be used though.

@Gondul is your cap a 4rh Gen cap. I can not remember if you just tried one or if you got one.

The 5th Gen 1500 site has some who used their 4th Gen cap on their 5th Gen. It worked and it is a different bed.

ARE MX Cap

Ordered back in May and showed up on the delivery truck yesterday... it was supposed to be here the week before but apparently they took a 4 day weekend so the local place was able to squeeze me in today. Overall fit/finish is good, there are couple of spots where the paint could have been...
