Has anyone made the fuel filler capless?

I searched and did not find this in the forum. Coming from a 2019 1500 to the thirsty 2022 Power Wagon, I'm filling up a lot more often and I'm wondering if instead of the twist off cap if anyone has modified their Power Wagon to have a capless fuel filler like the 1500's have? Can it or has it been done? Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I couldn't understand either why they wouldn't have included that in the 2500.
Same goes for the automatic parking brake.

The gasser does not have a capless system? The cummins has no cap you could perhaps use a cummins one, whats the harm in screwing off a cap though

Why would you want to? Every car I've run into (gas) with a capless system runs into countless evap failures because of it. Often times resulting in the need for a whole new filler neck (lots of money) whereas if the gas cap fails (not so much money).

I got used to capless on the 1500. Didn't seem like it would ever have an issue. It's a lot more convenient than hanging the cap on the little metal clip too.

For convenience, they could have included a connected ring around the cap or a deeper slot in the gas door to more securely hold the gas cap while filling. First world problem, I know…

The diesel has capless filler and lots of owners complain about wanting a cap to keep dirt out, now someone wants to get rid of the cap and have capless fill. Is it really that hard to operate the cap? Personally I wish they supplied a locking cap.

I am pretty sure that (on the capless 1500s) the filler door locks with the vehicle doors.
I actually was quite happy with the capless design, never had any issues. That said, unscrewing a cap to fill is not really something that I would complain about.

Don't seem to have an issue with my capless diesel. And I've had that style on my 2009 Expedition with no evap problems.

The only issue I have with my 2500 is that some gas pump nozzles will auto-stop off depending on the angle of the nozzle. Then I have to hold the pump handle at a higher angle for it to not auto-stop.

Maybe not too much of a problem in warmer climes, but it's handy having the cap to hold the filler open incase the pump doesn't have a locking clip. Especially when it's -30c up here
