I do all of my own maintenance, and just did both fuel filters and an oil change. The fuel filters took forever and were so expensive! (I did buy a big kit from Geno’s Garage and saved money there, so that’s nice.)
I’ve been doing some research and wanted to get your opinions as well.
The first one I was looking at is from this company - Throttle Up Industries - http://m.dieselfuelfilterkits.com/?...tml&utm_referrer=https://www.youtube.com#2846 - I like this one, but it still leaves me with two filters to change.
And the other option is from - Black Market Performance - https://blackmarketperformance.com/...r-filter-adapter-13-18?variant=32858777387090 - this one I like, because it replaces both OEM filters with CAT filters (which I believe are better), but I just wanted to confirm that it wouldn’t cause any problems with my fuel heater or anything that I haven’t thought of. Thanks for your time.

I feel like if I went with the first one I optioned, it wouldn’t affect the warranty, since both the fuel filters are still there. But my dilemma is, that, I would still have to continue to buy both of the fuel filters! My second option, I would only have to buy the cat filters which are only $20 and easy to change.

You need to make sure the cat filter goes down to 5 microns . Reality is the filters last a long time between changes . So how much is the kit lines and assorted goodies going to cost to do it ?Personally if I was going to put out the bucks I would go with Air Dog . Cat filters are no better or worse than OEM which are Fleet Guard fuel filters owned by Cummins . Been using them for over 3 decades never a problem . Check out Amazon you can find deals on OEM filters there . You can go cheap like me and get a billet aluminum cap for the engine bay filter , comes off much easier than the plastic lid . I wish they still had qa spin on in the rear . Good Luck . Check out air dog.

Cat filters are the same as oem filtration at 2 microns i will be doing the swap when im out of warranty your not saving a whole pile of money but the spin on filter is nicer to work with in my mind.....

Both cat filter block kits are around 100$ each and the oem filter is 2 microns like the cat is the airdog is 700$+ So have better to deal with cat filters for 300$ including filters and quick to install vs 1000$ +for the airdog and sump kit ( no point doing the airdog without a sump) and a bigger deal to install.....

You've clearly never done any research on Cat filters. Cat makes some of the highest quality filters available anywhere and at any price. They devoted an entire division and millions upon millions of dollars to researching filter issues and developing their own product that outperformed nearly anything else available. This includes designing a complete new manufacturing process that is 100% automated so there is no variation from human interaction.

Yup cat is quality, and even with engine rebuilds on cat engines if you use anything but cat parts it wont last as long as it should

afsi makes the filters for donaldson and cat, as it's a joint venture based on a common design.

ASFI is the resultant joint venture. They make the high efficiency filters for both Cat and Donaldson, standard efficiency filters are still made in-house (at least at Cat).
