2016 Ram 2500 6.7 4WD Crew cab standard bed.
I've had this problem now for for a few months i do not think it is my rear diff because it honestly drives really smooth most of the time. This mostly happens after a long drive down the road seems to happen when i go over certain bumps and really gets bad when turning into parking lot or backing up. weird thing is it seems like it only happens after things heat up front driving because when i start driving i don't hear or feel anything unordinary. I hear it at highway speeds sounds like a soft grinding sound i can feel it in the pedal. I have replaced ball joints, wheel bearings, and front axel u-Joints. so i really think its in the driveline or in the rear of the truck. Any thoughts would be nice before I start spending money on parts that don't fix it.

Could the clunk and grinding be 2 different things? Clunking to me could be shock bolts, leaf spring hangers/u-bolts, rear swar bar. Grinding could be brakes, outer wheel bearings, etc. Have you ever had the rear diff fluid checked/changed? Maybe it's the limited slip acting up once the fluid is warm? How many miles are on the truck?

103k on the truck check fluid level it was good and looked and smelled normal. I however did not take the cover off.
