All,

I have a 2019 2500 Laramie Sport and came out of the local costco yesterday to find out that someone had committed a hit and run on my truck (pictures below). Luckily the damage was minimal, mainly the puncture in the grill. I have found a short video on youtube on how to mostly remove it, even the part # through Mopar (68443922AA). Has anyone had to remove/swap theirs on here, was it a serious pain in the a**? I have tools and abilities, just curious from someone else that has grill removal/swap experience.

Thanks,

JC

Can't really help with the swap but sorry for your troubles. People are scumbags. It had to be something pretty large in stature to not hit the bumper but take out the grill. Does the store possibly have video footage? There are cameras everywhere these days.

I went inside and checked to see if it was caught on camera, no luck, I was parked too far away. Sunday is costco day in my area. I'm thinking it was an open tailgate, maybe the corner of it...?

I've been watching some of the youtube videos to swap grills as I'd like to swap my Longhorn grill for a limited grill when my truck arrives. While the process is not as simple as I hoped, it looks like a guy just has to take his time. The biggest difficulty seems to be the 3 trim pieces on the lower grill. The 2 short pieces under each headlight take quite a bit of effort to pry out, and there are some difficult bolts where the center bottom trim attaches to the grill. Not sure where you live, but I'd do it on a day when all the parts are warm and you can just take your time. As frustrating as this is, I'm glad to see that there was no paint damage.

Bummer, sorry to hear that... sucks that people are too cowardly to do the right thing.

Here's a link to a youtube video where they do a night edition conversion, the first part of the video is about removing the grill:
