3 letter forum searches typically don't work. 3 letter search here wouldn't work*.

You got hits on "tracker."

Google search "DR-100 gps module" gets plenty of concise detailed hits.

If you really want to find stuff on a particular site, use the google keyword "site:hdrams.com"

* The advanced search is supposed to support 2-3 letter searches but it's been broken for a while.

Dealer tracker. Last year I went to buy a used 2022 RAM 2500. Got to a good price and started going over the invoice line by line. I noticed $1400 for a "stolen recovery module". I asked about it and dealer said it tracks stolen vehicles (requires a monthly fee), ie. LoJac. I politely asked them to remove the tracker and dealer said they install them in all their new and used vehicles. I then asked not-so-politely to remove the module and remove the $1400 charge or the sale is no-go. They wouldn't do it so I walked out. Won't visit that dealer again. That really lit me up. And when I purchased my new 2500 (at a different dealership) my first question for salesman was do they install trackers, he answered, no, never.

I ordered my PW. Told them I didn't want any of their extra ad ons. When the truck showed up, sure enough, there was a tracker and a charge. Told them I didn't want it and that was the deal I made. Made them remove it before I woukd take delivery and pay.

I was pissed. I found out vendors will show up at a dealership with box full of trackers, about $50 each, and they charge the dealership about $100 to install. Then the dealer tacks on $1400 for this "feature". No freakin' way. I'm (we are) being tracked too many ways already.

good for you for standing your ground!

When I was negotiating to order from a local dealer I saw a $700 security line item on the quote. I asked what it was and it was one of those trackers. I told him I didn't want it and he took it off no problem (I wasn't financing). I found the uninstalled tracker under the passenger seat when I was going through my truck when I got home.
