hi, first post. I bought a 19 Big Horn with the 6.7 to replace a 10 year old tundra that I loved. First RAM, first diesel. I gave up options so I could get the engine, it's amazing. I'm at 29k miles right now and the stock tires are all but done, so I'm looking for suggestions on replacements. 95% of my driving is highway, I tow 7k worth of camper most weekends with a generator and dirtbikes in the bed. It snows here so an all season is ideal, mainly I'm interested in a quiet highway ride and mileage. The truck won't be lifted, leveled or have the OEM wheels replaced. Is there a particular tire people here go to that holds up well? I'm eyeballing the pirelli scorpion at plus. Thanks for the help.

pirelli is no good bad traction and bad life span

cooper discovery at3 ltx is a nice tire i run them on my 19 i plow with them in 2wd even they are great millage tire and good pricing

I've really liked coopers. I'd probably go with the AT3 if I was looking for a mostly highway tire. I ran the ST-Maxx on my old truck because I wanted more of an offroad tire that was tough without being excessive. They were the best tires I've ever had. When I wear out the stock tires, I plan to replace them with Coopers one inch taller

I have read and heard a lot of good things about the Cooper Discovery XLT AT3. However I chose to go with the Continental Terrain Contact AT's and really love them. I believe that Consumer Reports rated them the best overall Truck AT tire in a recent study they did.

I run the Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT on my fleet vehicles and personal trucks. Great wear and mileage with proper rotation intervals, not too bad when my employees don't have them rotated either. The last set on my 3/4 ton had ~65k on them when I replaced them. I do find them to be balance sensitive or the guy running the balancer doesn't give AF or doesn't know what he's doing.

I did the Michelin Defenders on my Ram 1500, and the ride was great but the wear wasn't good on 2 sets, no alignment issues or wear in that sense. They did better on my Chevy 1500, prior to getting the Ram 1500. Maybe just a bad batch? I ended up buying the General HTS60 for the Ram 1500 and were smooth riding and handling all season. When the Firestones on my 19 2500 wear out, I'll give the General HTS60 a try again.

I love the Michelin Defender. had them on my 16 3500 Ram and they went about 65+/- miles before needing replaced. look at the Michelin Agilis Crossclimate tire this is what I will be replacing mine with once the stock tires need to be replaced.

Another set of Cooper AT3 XLTs here. I like them so far but only 4kmi on them. No issues to report in regards to traction, noise or control plus I corner this Ram like a Porsche. I prefer a meatier tire so that's why I went the Cooper route. Seamed like a good balance between manners and meat. If I wanted a good all around quiet hiway tire that I didn't off road much I would buy the Michelin LTXs. They served me well through many winters on several vehicles.

I ran a set of yokohama geolanders for 15k miles and was a great tire, check them out. running a set of toyo open country atIII's at the moment, and really impressed so far.

Hankook Dynapro AT3 is the current tire. Nice, smooth, quiet. Before that were Open County ATIII's. That was a nice tire as well.

I'll add to the Cooper camp, with AT3s. Been running Coopers for years on my Ram(s). Like I said in another post, up until last year I was doing a LOT of time at the track, and was towing 10+k lbs over 18,000 miles per year from Pgh, over to Road American in WI, down to Barber in AL, across to Daytona and Jennings GP in FL, up to NJMP in NJ, and everywhere in between (Road Atlanta, Summit Point, PIRC, etc). This was effectively year round, so you see I got a complete assortment of terrain, road conditions and weather. Also pulled my 3 horse slant GH trailer a fair amount. I have over 320k miles on the '04 Ram 5.9 w/NV5600 6spd. Now added a '20 Bighorn with the 6.7 to the family. The Coopers held up as well as I could ask given the circumstances. That pulling through a lot of hills and mountains takes a toll on rear tires for sure. They get noisy as they start to really wear, but handle well. The Transforce stock tires are fine until they wear out, and then Coopers will be on the new truck too. IMHO the Cummins is a little harder on tires due to the heavier weight, and the torque. It's worth it.

I looked into everything suggested and I like the Coopers at this point. A buddy had the Michelins on his 14 laramie, they had some terrible outer edge wear and I'm gunshy on those. The Coopers can be had locally for about $1100 all said and done, that's probably the direction I'll go. Thanks everyone.

Maybe a dumb question but has anyone tried the BF Goodrich AT's? My dad runs them on his Chevy 3500 DRW and swears by them. Everyoine else I've talked to hates them and says they don't wear evenly.

I have ran a lot of different all terrain tires on all sorts of HD trucks. Based on your "quiet highway ride and mileage" there is one superior tire I have ran, the Michelin Defender LTX. I had a set on my 2018 cummins and current F250. The other tire that I have ran once, and would buy again because they have the 3 peaks snowflake for snow rated drivng, is the newer Michelin Agilis. You will be happy with either of these IMO.

They used to be a good tire. They've been crap for a few years now.

I would never buy another set for an HD truck.

I fully intend to replace the stockers with Michelins when its time on my 3500. Been running them on various trucks mostly street use with great results for nearly 20 years so no real need to change. Coopers would my next choice if i had to choose alternate.

Thanks. I just ordered a set of the Yokohama Geolander ATs (35x12.5) for my 2019 2500 Cummins. I’ve read a few very positive reviews about them. I also ordered a Bilstein B8 5112 2” front end lift kit to help level the truck.
