Hello group! So, I have a 2021 Ram 2500 6.4Hemi. The fuel pump went out. I dropped the tank and bought the OEM replacement pump. I had it in for a week and the new one went bad with the same problem. A wire had burnt off of the internal part of the fuel pump along with the springs and rods that are attached to the pump. What would cause that?

Sounds like you have a short. I’d start by checking how much voltage you’re getting to the harness at the pump. Make sure you don’t have any corrosion at the connection(s). I don’t have your truck but you should have a fuse for your fuel pump, if that wire pulled enough amps to fry the pump, it should have popped. Maybe you got a bad replacement pump? I’d check wires and connectors first.

Thank you. I checked the fuse and it's still good. On the fuel pump itself one of the wires popped or was blown out of its slot. The spring and rods were also inside the tank not attached to the pump anymore.
