Front passenger seat vibrates wildly - is this normal?

Hello, my buddy drove my truck. I sat in the back 'cause my son called shotgun(!). I was amazed to see the passenger seat vibrate so hard when we drove on the paved road. There was quite the side to side movement at the top of the seat at quite the frequency. Never seen anything like it. Is this normal? It is not constant, only when bumps etc are hit on road. No vibrations are felt when driving. Truck rides smooth i.e. tires feel balanced.

Edit: another thought, i havent sat in the back seat for a long time...this may be a real silly question...

Shouldn't move any more than the driver's seat. Maybe there's a loose bolt or two under it?

Makes sense. Will have a look. Drivers seat doesnt move nearly as much. Thanks for the thought.

Hi dgstandard,

I certainly understand why this would be concerning. If you decide to address this with your dealer, our team is just a private message away for additional support.

Thanks Mark. I'll figure it out. If not, have a great dealer that will address the next time I am in town.

I am seeing the same issue on my 19 mega cab. Vibration is like crazy. I will be looking up on the seat bolts today to see if they are loose or something. Will post an update afterwards.

I haven't paid any attention in my Ram but my old Frontier had the same issue. Seamed like it was pretty wide spread on the Frontier forum. Nissan dealers tried several fixes for other owners but never could remedy the underlying engineering issues. I never bothered taking mine in since it was more of an annoyance than a reliability issue. I, like most owners found the best solution was to slide the passenger seat back so it wasn't visible from the peripheral view. Fixed! While you might want to have it checked out I wouldn't get to excited when the R.O. gets stamped Can Not Confirm.
