I'm not tall enough to access the front of the bed without a step. What's a good option here? I looked at the White Knuckle rock sliders but I don't think I want to go that route. I don't mind the factory tube steps at all but it would be nice if they extended past the rear door so that I could get that bed access. I've seen some Ram trucks that do but not sure what models those are. Is there a reason not to go that route? Is the AMP Bed Step the 2nd best choice after the White Knuckle sliders? Appreciate any input.

I know you said you are looking for options other than white knuckle sliders... but I have the white knuckle sliders (extra wide version), and they work perfectly as a step for accessing tool box at the front of the bed. Only caveat was that I had to add grip tape so they were less slippery.

And of course they are excellent protection offroad, and work well as entry steps(again, added grip tape)

highly recommend the sliders

Maple Offroad is another slider option… I’ve looked at both companies, undecided who I’m going to go with.

I have the WK sliders with the kick out and the step cover. Works great for accessing the rear of the bed.
