After spending weeks trying to find a solution that didn't impede more of the drivers view I found one that felt very natural while driving and thought I'd share the parts needed incase anyone could use it.

For background I have a 22 Ram 3500 Mega Cab Dually. In the center of the windshield I already have a VIOFO A229 and the digital mirror surround is already pretty large. I also have a Garmin 895 RV GPS underneath that suction mounted. I'll be moving that to a bulletpoint mount to drop it down and out towards the main screen for more visibility. What I didn't want was the GPS screen and the trailer camera screen in the center.

What I found was having the monitor to the left of the steering wheel was helpful as I am already glancing that way to use my mirror. After much trial and error with various ram mounts I've got it so it does not impede the steering wheel, has sufficient gap behind to allow the ac/heat vent to flow, and does not hit the window. Pictures attached.

What you will need:

1. RAM Mounts RAM-B-367U Motorcycle Handlebar Clamp Base with M8 Bolts with B Size 1" Ball: https://amzn.to/3VGyGZw
2. RAM Mounts Composite Double Socket Swivel & Ratchet Arm RAP-B-200-2U Compatible with RAM B Size 1" Ball Components: https://amzn.to/45KxbOH
3. Double 1" Ball Mount Base Ball Adapter Compatible with RAM Mounts B Size Double Socket Arms: https://amzn.to/4cGLw0P

Handlebar Clamp: You can remove the lower 10mm bolt on the A pillar grab bar of the truck and replace it with this. I had to use a new bolt that was longer along with a thick plastic washer (about 1/4"-1/2") to push the ball out further from the A-Pillar. I had a bolt and washer laying around that fit so I'm not sure of the thread size but this is easy to figure out by just taking the 10mm bolt that you removed to the hardware store. The plastic cover on the grab bar can be removed from behind by using a small pry tool if you don't want it hanging off.

Double Ball: The 1" double ball (#3 above) will not fit in to the Furrion monitor. It is almost impossible to find a 22.4mm double ball that fits the Furrion Vision S monitor. You can find ones that have a suction cup etc but not one that has a 1" ball on the other end. There is a 1" to 22mm ball available on ebay that says it is for the Furrion Vision S but when I ordered it it would not hold the monitor. It pops in to the socket but is slightly to small so the monitor droops down.

I used course sandpaper and a dremel (a bench grinder would also work) to sand one ball down to 22.4mm. I did this very slowly, going round the ball once or twice with the dremel and then test fitting it so I didn't grind it down to far. It takes some patience to get it just right. You can use the mounts that come with the furrion to compare the ball side to side with the one you are sanding down to get a rough idea of when you are getting close.

Set up worked well going across the NC/TN mountains which has some rough areas with plenty of bounce.

Nice.

I mount mine to the rear view mirror as it’s useless with the 5er in tow anywho. I did some wiring in the overhead console and have just the single power wire dropping down to power it.

I have the digital rear mirror with the trailer camera so mine actually shows behind the trailer so I was unable to do this. I do drop my little cubby down and have my TST tire pressure monitor mounted in there though. I hate having all the extra's littered everywhere!

This is funny, because I just installed two of those RAM balls on my grab handle last week to hold a Garmin inReach and an iPad I use to monitor the trailer power system and environmentals while I’m driving.

Nice setup @DGFisher91. Is that RAM Mount pretty much statically mounted there? Or is there a QuickDisconnect and easily pop-in that bolt cover on the grab handle?

Appears you'd have unbolt it, replace OE bolt and then the plastic cover but wanted to double check. I really like the position yours but would prefer something that I could easily dismount. Thanks!
