Does anyone have any clue what this strip of foam behind the sunroof glass is for? My shade was feeling grabby for a day or two, then yesterday I pulled the shade back and this foam strip halfway fell down. It appears to be loosely attached to a piece of the glass assembly behind the glass, but I can't tell what it's purpose is. It has nothing to do with weathersealing.
The fact it's so delicately attached suggests maybe it was supposed to be removed on delivery, which they wouldn't have done since I specifically asked them to do the bare minimum PDI and let me have that satisfaction (and avoid the paint being washed with a brick, like dealers love to do).
Wondering if I can rip it the rest of the way off and yeet it in the trash, or if it has a necessary function and I should get it warrantied? I despise going to the dealer for anything, let alone something as simple as this.
All I can find on it is this one Reddit thread which had no answers.
