The wheels that I want to purchase for my new truck have a substantial lead time, but I have found a used set locally that are like new.
The used wheels are coming off of an older 8x6.5 lug pattern Duramax, so they'll bolt up fine. My concern is the offset/backspacing.
My truck will have a 2.5" Carli kit, and I will run 35x12.5's.

With an 8.5" wheel with -6 offset / 4.5" backspace:
-Will the tires rub at all?
-How far will the tires stick out past the fender flare?
-If I upsize to 37" tires later down the line, will they fit?

Which wheels and tires do you have currently ?
@aaronedmonton I don’t even have the truck yet lol
I picked up a set of used/ basically new Innov8 g500 ‘s. They were built exactly the way I would have purchased if I bought them new, with the exception of the offset. I Also already have the Carli 2.5 level kit.
The wheels are 8.5" wide with -6 offset / 4.5" backspace.
Will be running 35x12.5 Ridge Grapplers.
Just wondering how much I’ll have to trim with the -6 offset

Each 25mm of offset is about 1 inch so if you’re going from 57mm or 50mm of stock offset to -6mm then that’s about 2.25-2.5inches that the wheels will be sticking out from their current position. You also have the 8.5 wide wheels so subtract a few mm off the above calculation.

Personally, I’m doing 18x9 0 offset on a 35x12.50. There should be minor trimming, if any on my setup. I’d imagine it would be minor trimming for your setup as well. You can check Custom Offsets site to see if anyone has a similar setup and see if they did trimming.

It really comes down to what tires as not many 35x12.5s measure 35” so figuring out the tire and getting actual numbers from the manufactures site will play a big role in rubbing but with the offset you most likely will have to trim the pinch weld

Not knowing what your factory setup is i just used the oem 18” size if you have the 20s it will be close to the same dimensioning ….
