Being trailered to me Saturday. Found the truck online at a dealer in Springfield, GA. The truck had just arrived on Saturday. Drove down early Monday to see the truck and made the deal. Once at the dealer early Monday morning they immediately notified me that when the truck was inspected the tech found a small air bubble under the dash just left of the storage tray. I had to look very hard to even see this air bubble and would have never noticed it. Very thankful that the tech and dealer took responsibility for this. Dealer ordered a new dash and it was supposed to be in Wednesday and only was going to take approx. two hours to replace the dash. Dealer called yesterday and said the dash was not going to make it in time for a Saturday delivery and that I can just take the truck to my local dealer to have it replaced. The dealer said to make sure I took it in before I reached 36k miles which is only about 700 miles away. I cannot find any actual recall for this dash issue searching by my VIN #. There are others that have had this issue, but didn't find till long after the 36k warranty was over. Trying to decide if I should make the selling dealer take care of this before I take delivery or just let my local dealer take care of this.

If you can handle waiting I’d get the selling dealer to fix it. They’re going to be more motivated than another dealer to get it done faster, and once you have it you’ll have to deal with the inconvenience of taking it in.

Finally received truck this week, but dash issue was not resolved at selling dealer due to not being able to get the replacement dash anytime soon. Selling dealer was finally told that the part is on back order and not due in til sometime the first of December with no exact date given. Selling dealer and my local dealer in Lavonia, GA are communicating well and have assured me that because the claim for the dash was approved by Ram before the end of the 36k warranty that I do not need to worry. Anyway, here are some pics and looking forward to the forum. I did include a couple of pics of my dash issue to hopefully show others what to look for. My mileage when this was found was 35,230. My build # is 0278.

Congrats on getting the truck finally.
That's a low number truck. I ordered mine in April and got it in June. Build #1590.
I'll have to look at my dash, but I dont think it has that issue or I would have noticed

I’ve got a buddy who’s 1500 had the same issue. It’s rare, but not unheard of.

Thanks for all the feedback. I have still not had my dash issue resolved. Tuesday I contacted the selling dealer to ask if they could track or tell me where the dash is. I was told by the GM of the selling dealer that my local dealer has to request my new dash from them before the new dash can be shipped. Supposedly my local dealer does not know that they have to request my dash from the selling dealer so now I have both dealers in a he said she said type of thing and I am of course stuck in the middle. At the end of the day Tuesday the selling dealer told me that requesting parts from another dealer is a common occurrence and does not know why my local dealer does not know how to request parts from another dealer. Anyway, my new dash should be on the way to my local dealer and hope to get my truck in soon. My main reason for posting all the above is let you all know to make sure your dealer knows how to request parts that you might need from another dealer or you too could end up waiting longer than necessary for your part.
