Finding out sales codes?

I bought 2 5 button remotes hoping to have them programmed to work the remote start and tailgate. I went to dealer with the remote start today from Mopar, they were able to put that on but told me the sales code for the tailgate was not there? It has the electric tailgate so I am not sure why the code would not be in there? The kid doing the work did not seem to interested in digging into it. So I would like to know how to find sales codes without dealing with the dealer if possible? If not I am selling the 2, 5 button remotes i bought for the truck because they won't help me out. I paid 150 but will sell shipped for 125, if you have info about sales codes please hit me up. thanks

Gate release will work as soon as they program they fob to your car. For the remote start you need wired hood latch

The remote start is done. I bought the 5 button fobs and the dealer is telling me i dont have the sales code for the tailgate so they wouldn't work? The remote start came with only the 4 button fob. I am a little confused to say the least. If there is a dealer employee on here maybe they can run the VIN of my truck and tell me exactly what can be turned on and what can't?

Tailgate will work with the electric latch only. If this is what you have it should work as soon as they program that fob to your car

I do have the electric tailgate. I am not sure why they said they could not do it? I really need to talk to a decent dealer.
 
I hate incompetence. It’s ok to not know something, but to not give a crap to figure something out is unacceptable.
If that Is where you bought the truck I’d be raising cane.
 
I do agree with you. The dealer I got the truck from is 5 hours from home. I will just deal locally and see if I can't get it working. The tailgate on mine is electric and it has to be a matter of turning it on? I don't think it can be done with the Alpha?

You don't turn it on. Once they program the fob it should be working.

I am going to call another dealer this morning and see if they will program key fob.
 
I'm little bit confused. So you bought the MOPAR remote start kit right? And they programmed the fob's that came with it? And you bought 2 5 button fobs and would like them to program to your truck? Is that correct?
 
Yes that is correct. They were telling me that it had to have the sales code to program? I don't think it needs the code, just like your telling me to have them just program the remotes. I scheduled an appointment at a dealer here in Detroit for Thursday. They said they can program the remotes to make the tailgate work. I do have the keycode, I managed to get the other dealer to give me that.
 
Do you have any problems with remote start? Does it work fine? And which FOB do you use?
 
The fobs that came in the Mopar kit work fine. They are saying that aftermarket fobs won't program? Or they are hit and miss? I called UHS and told them, these are new factory remotes. I am going to change the batteries in them and go to different dealer and have them try.

Did you purchased aftermarket ones or oem ram fobs?
