Hello all, New to the forum here. I am in Alabama. All my dealers down here arent very helpful when trying to build out a 2500. Any tips or suggestions on how to find a good dealer to order through?

You can't go wrong with Mark Dodge in Lake Charles, LA. Many folks on this forum from all around the US have purchased from MD, including me, and have nothing but high praise for them. I'm from Washington state and will be flying down next week and driving my new truck home. The deal MD gave me more than justifies the expense I'll have flying down and driving 2,800 miles back. I worked with Sandi - [email protected]

I'm sure you'll have other suggestions from others here. Where in Alabama are you?

Ah thanks so much for that info! I am about 30 min northeast of birmingham.

Another recommendation for mark dodge here. I picked up my truck from them back in december and actually drove through Alabama on my way back to the east coast

There's a few dealerships that this forum will reference for pretty good sub-MSRP pricing, but pretty sure Mark Dodge is the one to beat, price wise if ordering new.

There are a few dealers who post here that you could take a look at, as well. @zach@granger is one I know of off hand. Also burn through the more recent pages in the 2022 Ram HD Builds and orders thread here. Should be some good leads, I'd imagine.

I'd also check out 5thgenrams forums. While it's not a HD specific site, they have a fantastic General section, with a stickied (I think, if not, it's wicked popular and should be on the front page) thread all about buying a truck and getting the best price. In that thread is a list of a few dealers many users use. I'd give that a read through, and then check out the latest 5-10 pages of the giant posting to see what's going on recently.

I only mention 5thgenrams because when I first found this place, postings about dealers offering the strong discounts seemed to be a lot less frequent. While I haven't been over that way in a bit, they did seem to be a lot more "on top" of these things, with a much more active userbase. Though that very well could have changed quite a bit as of late. And they also have a handful of sticky threads (again, I think, maybe just super frequent threads that always stay up top) with other real useful info around ordering, picking up, etc. which can be useful as well.

Alabama resident here and I also ordered from Mark Dodge. I shopped around including a few TN dealers and nobody came close to MD pricing or awesome customer service.
@tyler2you - I see your Air Force emblem. Thank you for your service! I was stationed at Maxwell AFB, Montgomery, 1975-1978. I moved off base into Montgomery and met many local folks who took me all over the countryside. Alabama became my second home. Over the years since I've gone back and visited folks around the Highland Homes/Wetumpka/Elmore/Pratville area many many times. One of my best buds is getting ready to retire from the Alabama Air Ntl Guard blackhawk outfit stationed next to Dannelly Field. I'll be heading back there early this summer for his retirement. Love the pine woods, the creeks and rivers, and especially the food; catfish, hushpuppies, grits, corn bread, mustard/collard greens, black-eyed peas, red gravy, and sweat tea. Best peaches in the world are from Chilton Co. Nothing better than that!

My pleasure and thanks to a fellow vet!

Another Mark Dodge customer here. Drove down last April to trade my 2019 1500 Limited and pickup bought my 2021 1500 Limited. Talking about trading for a 2022 3500 now.

What is the Mark Dodge discount? Granger is 4% under invoice but haven’t seen what the Mark Dodge discount is. Thanks!

I don't know how they calculate their discount, but they are very similar to ours. Should be within a couple hundred bucks either way.

MSRP for my truck with the options I wanted was ~$58K in October 2021, which included destination fee of ~$1,800.
My price was ~$51K, which included destination fee and $444 document fee. You can work out the '% under invoice'. Whether that % is still available, you'll need to work with the dealer to find out.
The discount I received was enough to pay for Washington state's 10% registration/taxes and the $2k it cost me to fly down and drive the rig 3K miles home.

I must say that any dealer willing to give any kind of '% under invoice' is doing the potential buyer a great service. Dealers up in my neck of the woods aren't even offering MSRP much less any discounts. Some are even jacking up prices several % over MSRP with no negotiations possible.

Here's my window sticker: Good luck with your new-truck adventure!
