I have a 2023 2500 Laramie SRW, MG, Hemi, 4x4, on order and am curious to hear feedback from owners with the Automatic Leveling Rear Air Suspension. I'm currently driving a 2019 F250 XLT Crew Cab with the standard suspension and am hopeful this Air Suspension option is worth the expense in terms of improved daily driving comfort, handling, and smoother towing. Thanks for your time.

Absolutely love my air suspension, that combined with the backup camera is like cheating when hooking up to trailers!! One thing I will say though, if you plan on doing any kind of lift you will be limited on what you can get. The rear does sit lower than the non air trucks, so be careful if you want a “leveling” kit. The ride in my opinion isn’t that much different from non air trucks, but it really is nice to be able to put 1500lbs+ in the bed and have the truck still sit level!!

Honestly, I'm not fan of it when I'm connecting and disconnecting my trailers. Unless I turn it off, I feel like it makes installing and connecting a WDH a bit more work. Turning it off isn't a big deal, but it's one more thing on the checklist. That said, when you've got a load in the back or a heavy trailer, it's works like a charm. it's handy too that you can lower it a couple inches to unload, which doesn't sound like much, but it makes a difference.

I've had auto leveling in my 1500 and now my 2500 in the MD/PA area... so a few days over 100 and a few under 0 from time to time... and I've never had problem 1 with the air suspension, though I've heard others have.

The 1500 had 4 corner air, which went from 6'4 (mild lift and level and 34" tires) down to 6'1" or so and that made a difference quite a few times in parking garages and carwashes. I miss that feature in my 2500, but that's neither here nor there I guess

From all the trucks in my sig below, and 2nd with the air, this is by far the best daily driving comfort, handling, and smoother towing tuck. Test drove the non-air coil springs and it was very nice but not as nice. For someone who has gone from an '04.5 to '22 I personally feel the '22 suspension is fantastic. It's a 2500 not a 1500. Just got back from a 1,400 mile round trip yesterday towing and was very easy going.

My 18 2500 and 22 2500 both had/have the factory air. I really like it. Rides great, can easily change the height for hooking up and/or trailer leveling. I would not buy a 2500 w/o it personally.

Love it for towing, gets rid of trailer squat and smooths things out. Slightly better ride than without. In reality the bed lowering mode only drops the ass end an inch or two, it's not as dramatic as you might think.

I'm really liking mine. I can't comment on ride comparison, haven't been in a non-air Ram 2500 enough to have an opinion there. But I find my ride to be outstanding, and like the leveling when towing. I drop the bed for loading/unloading and when we have paddle boards or kayaks or bikes in the back. It's only 1", you wouldn't think you'd notice, but I find it makes it easier to reach over the sides and combined with the bed step it's easier in and out too.

I think it's a matter of opinion. If you are only loading the truck with about 1200 pounds due to the rake it will be sitting almost level without air suspenstion. At a certain payload above 1200 lbs is where the air suspension is paying dividends. This and the conveniance of the drop feature for hitching/unhitching is nice. I have yet to ride a air suspension truck to compare the ride unloaded but I took the word of salesman that it wasnt much different. I wished I had checked it out but didnt. My guess is a. better experience and ride with rear air bags(good year), ZF/Wabco air compressor and Delphi? controler. All great components used here. I wrote the EMC test plan and it passed all tests.
