I had a '19 F-250 CC 4x4. It was bone stock until 100k then I deleted it. It was a standard F-250...no camper package, heavy duty payload package, nothing. Just standard F-250 suspension.

Now I have a '24 Ram 2500 CC 4x4 which is bone stock. Also standard suspension, no upgrades.

Both trucks did come factory with 5th wheel prep group if it makes any difference.

What I have noticed in my first week with the Ram is:

- Ride quality is NOTICEABLY smoother. The suspension really does soak up bumps, dips in the road, bridge joints, etc. far better. The Ford beat the piss out of us. This Ram is very acceptable for a HD truck.

- Cummins torque is no joke. On paper my Ford made 70 HP and nearly 100 lb/ft more. But to me the Cummins does not feel weaker. In fact, it feels like it makes more lugging power below 1,500 RPM. I've seen it climb hills in overdrive at 900 RPM. It's just wild to me how much low end this Cummins is putting down. Maybe the trans. programming is helping. I don't know. But it's a monster. I absolutely love it.

- 68RFE is better than expected. I've heard the horror stories all over the Web for 15 years. But honestly, my 68RFE is NICE. I love the shifts. Very crisp and fast. Almost feels like when guys would install "shift kits" back in the old days. I also like how it will allow the engine to lug, rather than ALWAYS trying to keep RPMs up like the 6R140 did in the Ford. I have zero complaints about the 68RFE so far, and I plan to service it every 50k so hopefully it'll be fine.

- I really like the limited slip diff in the Ram. The Ford didn't even have that option. It's open or e-locker only for the Ford. For my use with this truck, the limited slip is better. It's seamless, works all the time, and is a benefit even on the road unlike a full locker.

What I do miss about the Ford:

- Aluminum body was very nice. I had no fears of the truck ever rusting out. Here where I live, steel body trucks rarely make it ten years.

- Cab was more spatious and rear floor was totally flat.

I'm enjoying the new Ram and I plan to keep it forever.
