Just wanted to throw what I’ve found out there amongst the many other posts on the subject in case anyone is deciding on aftermarket exhaust.
I started w/ the Magnaflow direct fit muffler replacement on my 2021 Power Wagon and, while the sound was good under acceleration, the drone around 1500-1800 RPM’s was more than I could handle. I ended up returning it for the Borla S Type cat back system. I’m by no means mechanically inclined but was able to install myself, more a PIA w/ the hangers then difficult necessarily.
The sound on it is great but surprisingly quiet. I had their Touring system on a 2019 1500 (technically a quieter system than the S Type) and I swear it was louder (maybe the dual exhaust vs a single pipe?). Either way very happy w/ it, zero drone and it sounds like stock under most normal driving (so the wife is happy). But it sounds great on start and when you hit the gas (especially around about 4,000 RMP’s) you really hear it! The system also looks significantly better than the stock exhaust pipe in my opinion.
Either way just throwing my experience out there in case anyone is deciding what to do with theirs!
