Hello all,

I think I know the answer to this, but I’ll ask anyway.

Is there a way to keep the exhaust brake on all the time? I ask, because I think it’s silly that when I start the engine I need to engage the exhaust brake (first world problem).

If there is a work around please let me know.

Thanks all!

Im pretty sure this can be updated using AlphaOBD or, if you have a tuned truck, can be enabled via the tune you are running. Im not aware of any other ways to turn this on full time.

A tuner is really the only option

Don’t mean to high jack the thread but will it do any damage leaving it on all the time?

Empty or loaded I always run with mine on. I don't see how any damage would occur with it engaged. And I think it's better to use it to keep the vains and actuator working and healthy. Have heard the vains can collect soot if not used frequently. And it can save break pad usage.

Nope you are doing less damage by using it! Mine has been on full since the day i got the truck its great now since im tuned i dont have to hit the button every time i start the truck

Double edged sword.

Risk the vanes sooting up/sticking vs wearing out the actuator. Pick your poison. I run with mine on almost all the time.

Now that the trucks won’t build too much back pressure on a cold motor there aren’t any issue from it being on all the time, aside from on slick roads.

The actuator is constantly moving so I’m not sure how much sooner it will wear out using the EB all the time.
